Ghana’s cocoa farmers are entirely self-dependent and an illness of any duration for either themselves or their family members can plunge them into poverty. Through our support and the generosity of the Hotel Chocolat Tasting Club members we have instigated a health care scheme directed at the farmers who represent the experience and their young counterparts who represent the future. The scheme is carefully designed so that farmers start to make their own contribution as they are able releasing funds for more of their colleagues to take part.
